Turkish Airlines, first European airline offering direct flights to Phnom Penh

Turkish Airlines has inaugurated a new link between Europe and Cambodia on 11 December 2025, launching a three-times-weekly service from Istanbul to Phnom Penh. The route makes the carrier the only European airline currently operating scheduled flights to the Cambodian capital, adding a direct connection via its main hub.

Flights depart Istanbul on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with returns from Phnom Penh on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The service operates via Ho Chi Minh City under fifth-freedom rights, with through-ticketing and a single flight number between Turkey and Cambodia. The schedule is designed to connect with Turkish Airlines’ long-haul network across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

The launch further extends Turkish Airlines’ claim of serving more countries than any other airline, while providing Phnom Penh with its first direct link to a European hub. The new route also strengthens air links between Cambodia and Türkiye following recent bilateral discussions on tourism and trade. Regulatory filings and airline timetable data confirm that, as of mid-December 2025, no other European carrier offers scheduled passenger flights to Phnom Penh.
