4SAS and WestJet tighten Canada–Scandinavia links with new codeshare agreement

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Canadian carrier WestJet have launched a reciprocal codeshare agreement designed to improve connectivity between Scandinavia and multiple Canadian cities via transatlantic services.

The cooperation is structured around SAS’s Copenhagen–Toronto route and WestJet’s domestic and regional network, allowing single-ticket itineraries and through-checked baggage for passengers traveling between the two regions. Publicly available company information indicates that the agreement covers numerous Canadian destinations beyond Toronto, while giving WestJet customers access to SAS-operated flights to Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and onward points in Europe.

According to official releases, the partners also plan to integrate their frequent-flyer offerings so that SAS EuroBonus and WestJet Rewards members can earn and redeem points on eligible codeshare services.

The deal is positioned as a way to increase the number of one-stop city pairs between secondary Canadian markets and the Nordic countries, using Copenhagen as a primary hub. The scope of the codeshare includes a wide range of WestJet domestic and transborder routes, as well as SAS intra-European services, with further expansion possible as the partnership develops.
